Episode 1: Artivism
Marching through the streets, sharing information on social media, writing emails and bombarding our elected officials phone lines are all forms of activism. However, art has also played a significant role in activism throughout history. In particular, 2020 has seen art flourish on and offline as a form of advocacy. During our first episode we will explore how art has played an advocacy role in 2020.

Episode 2: Documenting covid-19 through Art
During this episode we will view and discuss paintings, film, illustrations and more that was created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic around the world. Some of the artwork was selected from the Under the Rock Exhibition with MuseU&M creative studio in Shanghai, China. Through analyzing these pieces we hope to bring awareness and reflect on how countries responded to this dire emergency, the context of our relationships within our community, what we denote as essential and more.

There is a fine line in incorporating cultural elements into visual arts. How does an artists decide if there work is appreciating culture rather than appropriating that culture through stereotypes. In this episode we will have a diverse panel to bring in different perspectives to this hotly debate topic.
